Professional Background

From university volunteer to national infrastructure leader

The Beginning

Martin’s journey into outdoor fitness started during his university years at Charles University in Prague. While pursuing his degree in Sports Science, he volunteered as a running coach in Prague’s central parks. That’s where it clicked — seeing people of all ages and fitness levels using the same outdoor spaces, wanting to move but not knowing where to start. He realized fitness didn’t need to be confined to expensive gyms or personal training sessions. Fresh air and accessible equipment could be just as effective.

Building Infrastructure

Over the past 12 years, Martin transitioned from individual coaching to large-scale program development. He’s collaborated with city councils and fitness organizations to establish permanent outdoor gym stations in over 30 Czech parks. His work directly influenced the installation of stretching stations and running circuits in Prague’s Letná Park, Stromovka, and Brno’s Lužánky Park. These aren’t just random equipment placements — they’re carefully designed circuits that progress from beginner-friendly to advanced, taking into account the landscape, seasonal weather, and community needs.

What Drives His Work

What really motivates Martin is the democratization of fitness. He believes quality exercise shouldn’t depend on gym membership or income level. Every person deserves access to effective training resources. He approaches outdoor fitness not as a fleeting trend, but as a sustainable, health-promoting lifestyle that strengthens community connections. When you exercise in a park, you’re not just improving your fitness — you’re building a healthier community.

Current Role at Primaltrade

At Primaltrade, Martin leads research and content development on outdoor fitness resources. He combines his practical coaching background with evidence-based exercise science to create comprehensive guides for park workouts and running circuits. His expertise spans equipment design, circuit programming, seasonal training adaptations for Central European climates, and accessibility standards for diverse fitness levels. He’s constantly exploring how outdoor fitness can evolve, staying current with both the latest research and the real-world needs of people training in Czech parks.
